Per Olof Ohlsson is the new Marketing Manager at Sunfab as of 27 February. Per Olof joins Sunfab from the telecoms company Ericsson, where he spent 18 years working in various positions in Sales and Marketing.

Per Olof grew up and lives in Hudiksvall. He started his career at Ericsson 18 years ago at Ericsson Cables’ Marketing Department in Hudiksvall. He spent the last three years working for Ericsson’s global service operation, primarily in sales and projects for fibre-based broadband networks for telecoms operators and infrastructure owners. Per Olof previously held the position of Customer Solution Responsible, with Telia as his main customer.

Projects in Africa
In the years 2012-2014 Per Olof worked on fibre projects in places including Kenya. Ericsson’s task was to build up a complete fibre infrastructure for the country’s biggest mobile operator in the capital city Nairobi.
“I lived in Nairobi for six months in 2013, when the project was in its most intense phase,” explains Per Olof. “During that period there were about 1,000 people working on the project, in everything from network planning and project management to final installation. It was my role to make sure that the project could be implemented, both technically and commercially.”

Broad experience of Sales and Marketing
At Ericsson, Per Olof worked in many different positions in Sales and Marketing. These included Key Account Manager, Business Developer and Business Manager, with both product and project sales in the field of Fibre Access. He also spent many years working in both Scandinavia and Europe. Down the years Per Olof has had experience of working with distributors and wholesalers in the Nordic market.

This strategy is in place
Over the next six months, it is Per Olof’s aim to visit Sunfab’s subsidiaries and a number of the bigger distributors around the world. Initially there will not be any major changes to the defined strategy. The focus will be on increasing volumes of Sunfab’s products and continuing to expand the distribution network around the world.

In his leisure time, Per Olof enjoys his two main leisure interests. Enduro motorcycling in the forest and playing guitar in a hard rock band.
