ePOWER

The development of electric drive systems for trucks has made significant progress, with major advancements in both battery and powertrain technology. There is a strong trend towards longer range and increased efficiency, which is crucial for electric trucks to compete with traditional diesel-powered vehicles.

ePTO systems (Electric Power Take-Off) support the transition to electric power by replacing the traditional power take-off and enabling cranes and other truck-mounted equipment to operate in a carbon-free and energy-efficient way. Hydraulic systems also play an important role in trucks, especially for heavy lifting and manoeuvring. As electrification continues, it is important to integrate these systems in a way that optimises performance and energy efficiency.

SAP DIN Optimised is a series of lightweight, fixed-displacement piston pumps designed for demanding mobile hydraulics. It is a variant of the standard SAP series, particularly well-suited for electric-motor operation thanks to its higher speed properties and lower noise levels.

Sunfab is exploring various ePTO concepts as part of its efforts to develop electric-drive solutions for its range of hydraulic pumps and motors.

– “We are working on several fronts to adapt to today’s and tomorrow’s electrified vehicles, both in terms of existing products and new developments, and we are eager to collaborate with partners and manufacturers in the industry”, says Andreas Wiberg, Head of Development at Sunfab.
